Welcome back to school! It’s hard to believe we are in the last portion of kindergarten. This year has flown by.
Everyone did a wonderful job adjusting back to school. Both teachers and students were exhausted by the end of the week!
This week we were introduced to our insect unit. We began the week by reading the “Hungry Caterpillar” by Eric Carle and “In the Tall Tall Grass” by Denise Flemming. Thursday and Friday we started to read science books on insects. We learned the parts of an insect and what makes an insect.
We will continue are insect unit through next week. We will then move into our planting unit and farm animals.
Many students have already earned their red rainbow drops! I am amazed at how quickly the students have learned all their sight words. We will be working on “one” and “little” next week. For students who have earned their red raindrop, they will receive a set of first grade words within the next week to help them continue to challenge themselves.
Thursday, May 7th will be class picture day. More information will come home next week. As a result, Crazy Hat day will be changed. A date will be announced next week.
