What a FANTASTIC first 2 days! Wednesday was filled with a mix of excitement and nervousness. We read the story of the “Kissing Hand” and realized that Chester the raccoon had the same feelings we did.
Today we read the story “Kevin Knows the Rules” and talked about many rules that would be good for our classroom. The kids had many insightful ideas! We introduced the car system and will begin to use it next week. Look in the binder for the calendar to be colored in daily next week.
We are slowly letting the kids learn how to use their binders and take things in and out of it. This is a new system for the teachers this year, so it will be a learning process for us too! I already learned that some of the folders are a little tricky to use. I will be looking to possibly replace them soon to make it easier. If you are sending in money please make sure it is in an envelope or baggie and labeled BEFORE you put it in their money pouch.
Starting next week, teachers will begin to ask children not to go on the equipment in the morning. The Kindergarten teachers will be rotating and taking turns for morning drop off duty. If it is not our day to be out there are other teachers responsible for watching the kids. We will be out by our door at 8:30 to pick up our class. The teachers should have their Timony ID tags on if you have any questions.
As always, please feel free to contact me with any questions. Have a wonderful weekend!
