Brooke Stone Farm State Park

We had an incredible time today on our field trip. After a long (and bumpy) bus ride we finally arrived. The kids started the day by exploring near a pond and seeing many things we talked about during our pond unit. They worked hard to collect items for a scavenger hunt. We also found many butterflies nearby. After lunch we went to feed some pigs, goats, sheep and chickens. And greeted some rabbits too. Soon it was our turn to visit the cows and see them up close. After smelling them all day, it was great to finally meet them. The baby cows were happy to see us and were very eager to give "kisses" to all the children. We also enjoyed some ice-cream while we were there. We were able to eat our ice-cream while watching the cows through a big glass window. We ended the day with one last exploration to the pond and found turtles, frogs, geese with their goslings and a mallard duck. By the end of the day everyone was exhausted (even the teachers)! Several boys and girls slept all the way home.

A BIG THANK YOU to Mrs. Whelan, Mr. Kuzlotsky and Mrs. Arrivillaga for joining us!

Here are some pictures of the things we saw. Be sure to check out our photo book after our kindergarten show. There will be some great ones of the kids to see.
